My husband and I both work for organizations that have been significantly impacted by the pandemic and have lost both fellow co-workers as well as clients/program participants. Just on Sunday, I learned that one of my uncles is gravely ill with the virus and has had both of his legs amputated. Almost simultaneously, I also learned that a close cousin (57 years of age) died last week in Baltimore. Three weeks ago, my first cousin died here in Brooklyn and because of limitations to the number of people allowed to attend his funeral service, I was unable to participate. His funeral was this past Friday. We live a block away from Brooklyn Hospital and the sirens, especially about a week ago, were relentless. Admittedly, it was terrifying. I have also found myself driven to distraction angered by the horrific and abysmal response from the Trump Administration to minimize and address the pandemic. To keep my sanity, I have embarked on a daily project to get outside and take photos. It has truly been therapeutic!
